Dear guests
I am delighted to announce and invite you to the Danish Pavilion at the interiorlifestyle TOKYO 2023 held from June 14–16 at the Tokyo Big Sight.
The Danish Pavilion is co-organized by Danish Industry and Danish Embassy in Japan in collaboration with Creative Denmark and 7 Danish design companies, LE KLINT, BoConcept, Linie Design, NorviGroup Denmark, The Dybdahl Co., Umage and Georg Jensen Damask. The companies include both well-established Danish design companies in the Japanese market and those with a new market entry project and ambition.
Japan and Denmark celebrated the 150 years of diplomatic ties in 2017. Design has been one of the key elements connecting Japan and Denmark over the years - minimalistic approach, aesthetic beauty and functionalism, craftsmanship, attention to details, respect for nature and natural materials: those are some of design values that Japan and Denmark share and this creates synergy between Danish and Japanese design and lifestyle. This is why we often see Danish design well integrated into Japanese houses, offices and public spaces. Sustainability aspects is coming on top of those design values these days, especially when it comes to sustainable materials and production of high-quality design products.
The Danish Pavilion will be curated by Ms Yuki Nakabayashi, a top local Japanese stylist, combining Danish design with the local Japanese context to showcase 'Japanese Living Spaces with Danish Design.' This is an unique opportunity to experience Danish design showcased in a new way.
I look forward to welcoming you to our pavilion together with the seven Danish companies.
Sincerely,
-

I would like to express my appreciation for this opportunity to get to know and come together with these 7 Danish companies to create a space at the Danish Pavilion at interiorlifestyle TOKYO.
It is such a unique and rare opportunity where the good elements of each brand can come together and be shared in one space at an exhibition in Japan – I sincerely hope that our space would create an opportunity for everyone to encounter new findings.
