2021年11月6日・7日に代官山の猿楽祭が開催されました。猿楽祭に伴い、駐日デンマーク大使館では複数のデンマークの企業と共に様々なイベントを催しました。この週末には来場者4.000人を超える方々に来場していただき、2.000人以上の方に大使公邸をご覧いただきました。

メインイベントの1つとして、ピーター・タクソ-イェンセン大使公邸のダイニングルームでは、”Dining with Design（デザインと共に食す）”のテーブルウェアの展示が行われ、普段はなかなか見られないディスプレイをご覧頂きました。

ダイニングルームでは、”Dining with Design”のキュレーターであるMargrethe Odgaardの選定したデザインの背後にあるストーリーをビデオで紹介しました。

ビデオの中でMargrethe Odgaardは次のように述べています。

「“Dining with Design（デザインと共に食す）”の為に収集されたテーブルウェアは、現代のデンマーク人デザイナーと工芸家等によって作られた17個の作品で構成されています。 精密な工業的なデザインと工芸の融合により生み出される調和のとれた体験によって、デンマークの伝統的なテーブルセッティングを楽しんで頂けると思います。 高品質、職人技、細部へのこだわりによる伝統、そして五感を楽しませてくれる体験へとあなたをご招待します。」

Margrethe Odgaardは2013年に独立し、デザインスタジオを設立。これまでにKvadrat、Muuto、Montana、Hay、Ikeaなどとコラボレーションをしています。また、デンマーク、スウェーデンなどで複数の個展を開催。自身のスタジオを運営しているほか、家具デザイナーのChris L.Halstrømと共にIncluded Middleというデザインデュオにも参加しています。

During the 6th-7th November 2021, Sarugaku Festival was held in Daikanyama. The Royal Danish Embassy joined the festival with multiple Danish companies, activities, and attractions. During the weekend there was more than 4.000 guests at the Danish Embassy, and more than 2.000 entered the ambassadors residence.

One of the main attractions was the Dining with Design tableware in the ambassadors, Peter Taksøe-Jensen, residence. Participants of the festival were able to see the kitchenware in the dining room.

In the corner of the dining room, there was a video playing on loop that the participants could watch. It was a video of the curator, Margrethe Odgaard, of the kitchenware in the residence, explaining the idea behind the designs she had chosen.

In the video Margrethe Odgaard said:
“The tableware Dining with Design consists of 17 pieces made by contemporary Danish designers and craft makers. Precise industrial design meets craft making to perform a harmonious total experience that conveys the Danish traditions for table setting. A tradition based on quality objects, craftsmanship’s, attention to details, and also an invitation for you to nourish your senses.”

Margrethe Odgaard set up her own design studio in 2013. Odgaard has clients such as Kvadrat, Muuto, Montana, Hay, and Ikea. She has done multiple solo exhibitions in Denmark, Sweden, and more. Besides running her own studio, Margrethe Odgaard is a part of the design duo included middle together with furniture designer Chris L. Halstrøm.
